product R+D manager – Banyeres (Alicante)

Client: Important textile company, with presence in international markets and specialized in recycled fibers, needs a:

Position: Product R+D Manager

Location: Banyeres de Mariola – Alicante

Functions:
Lead and oversee all R+D/Innovation projects, ensuring their successful development and implementation.
Develop R+D Projects and Identify emerging trends and opportunities for actual products and actual markets as well as new products and/or new markets.
Coordinate the different phases of projects and tests to be carried out in each one with internal departments and/or collaborating companies/universities. Manage budget for R+D projects.
Develop Product/Process test procedures as necessary to evaluate and Ensure all fibers, yarns and fabrics are developed to meet testing standards by laboratory testing. Partner with some different worldwide labs.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with external partners, research centers, universities, organizations, companies, and suppliers worldwide to leverage expertise and resources.
Strong collaboration with Tech Support team and Sales team for fiber adoption and follow all yarns and fabrics developments.
Identify new products and processes to be developed, but also those to be improved, via careful analysis. Stay abreast of industry advancements, competitor activities, and regulatory changes. Visits to technology centers, fairs, congresses, universities, etc.
Creating and design projects reporting, coordination and follow-up.
Create and maintain specification sheets. Develop new products and keep updated fabric library.
Control and coordination workload for all different partners tracking activities, results, deliverables, timelines, budget,…
Profile:
Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role.
Bachelor´s degree in Textile Engineer.
Specific technical and scientific knowledge in Textiles Engineering is required (from yarn spinning to weaving/knitting) and preparation, dyeing and finishing processes and machineries.
Excellent problems solving and analytical skills.
Knowledge on fibers, yarns and fabrics quality standards.
Fluency in at Least Two Languages (English, Spanish), Written and Verbal.
Available to travel worldwide.
